15 Feb Foneclay Italia being selected by the CreatiFI accelerator to integrate FIWARE IoT technology into Snapp
Rome (Italy), 15 Feb 2015. As part of the first Open Call of CreatiFI, a FIWARE accelerator, Foneclay Italia has been selected for FoneSmart, an innovative project aiming at integrating FIWARE Internet of Thing (IoT) enabling technology into Snapp.
Snapp is a framework for rapid app development. With this project, Snapp users will be able to create apps that interact with “Things” managed by the FIWARE IoT technology for scenario like Smart Cities and Smart Homes.
The first implementation open to FI-LAB users targeted for middle of April.
FIWARE is an open initiative aiming to create a sustainable ecosystem to grasp the opportunities that will emerge with the new wave of digitalization caused by the integration of recent Internet technologies.
The FIWARE Acceleration Programme aims at promoting the take up of FIWARE technologies among solution integrators and application developers, with special focus on SMEs and start-ups. Linked to this program, the EU launched an ambitious campaign in September 2014 mobilizing 80M€ to support SMEs and entrepreneurs who will develop innovative applications based on FIWARE.

CreatiFI introduces the FIWARE technologies to very large relevant communities of Creative Industries and web entrepreneurs. With a fund for SMEs, web entrepreneurs and ICT developers, it supports the development of new applications leveraging future internet technologies for the Creative Industries.
In CreatiFI project creative industries and ICT are combined by using Future Internet technologies introduced by FI-WARE and support the develop a large amount of prototypes for innovative, FIWARE technologies based tools for the Creative Industries, a large number of which have commercial potential.
